DM organizes exhibition of recycled auto spare parts

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council Dubai Municipality on Sunday has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with du, the fastest growing telecom service provider in the Middle East, to provide WiFi services in the DM’s main building and in key public areas.

This announcement came during the first day of GITEX Technology Week 2014. HE Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality and HE Ahmad Bin Bayat, Chairman of du signed the MoU in the presence of a number of officials from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company du and their counterparts in Dubai Municipality.

Based on this agreement, du will be the official provider of WiFi in the designated areas including Zabeel Park, Creek Park, Mushrif Park, Mamzar Beach and Park, Jumairah Beaches 1, 2 and 3, Um Suqaim Beaches 1 and 2. It will also provide WiFi for visitors and employees at Al Twar, Al Manara, Al Karama and Hatta customer services centers, besides the Dubai Municipality headquarters.

Thousands of daily visitors to these key public places will benefit from the free WiFi services in addition to 14,000 Dubai Municipality employees.

 ‘Dubai Municipality already offers hundreds of e-services and this partnership is expected to benefit its wide range of customers and thousands of employees,’ Lootah said.

‘We have already started our journey towards achieving the goals set by Dubai Smart Government, seeking effective partnership with government and private organizations who can actively take part in making Dubai one of the smartest cities in the world in terms of public services,’ he said. 

‘The civic body has great hope by launching this free WiFi service that it can introduce all its electronic and smart services designed to serve the society in different areas to a wide range of users, customers and companies in the emirate of Dubai, which in turn would create high level of public awareness on their rights and obligations in supporting the civic body’s vision to create an excellent city that provides essence of success and comfort of sustainable living,’ he added.      

du’s end-to-end, fully managed WiFi solutions will empower Dubai residents and visitors through seamless connectivity, with one login and one portal, serving customers of all telecom operators in the UAE, wherever they go.

To enjoy du WiFi, customers can connect when the service is available from their WiFi-enabled device and select three usage options: Free high speed for government services, complimentary basic service, and Premium high speed service. Full details of each option will be available through a landing page that is automatically opened upon connection.
