Dubai Municipality has recently accomplished a new smart project in collaboration with Nokia to help the users of Dubai roadmap find out nearby facilities and buildings, said Eng. Abdullah Rafia, assistant director general of Dubai Municipality.
“The project comes as a result of the agreement between the civic body and Nokia to provide improved services for the residents and visitors of Dubai, which allows the user of Nokia location app users to find out any facilities available on both sides of roads such as petrol stations, buildings, mosques, pharmacies and much more,” Rafia said.
“The real pictures taken using the new satellite technology of Nokia will be added to the Dubai roadmap which will be later integrated with ‘Makani’ the recently introduced DM’s most advanced addressing system,” he explained.
“Dubai is the first city in the middle east that uses the surrounding pictures with road maps in the middle east. The app can be downloaded from Nokia and Samsung stores,” he said.
“We would like to provide all types of comfort and ease to the residents and tourist in line with the vision of the civic body,” he added.
