DM holds brainstorming session for upcoming Car Free Day

The environment department of Dubai Municipality announced that the civic body will hold a brainstorming session on Thursday (30.10.2014) with the participating organizations in the upcoming Car Free Day for the year 2015.

Sara Al Sayegh, head of environmental awareness session at Dubai Municipality said: Last year total 7,000 employees from 65 government and private organizations participated in the globally appreciated Car Free Day organized by Dubai Municipality contributing to diminishing 20 tonnes of carbon emission during the day of event.

“This year we wish to organize the event more widely and innovatively as directed by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum with the aim at making the initiative one of the global record in creating environmental awareness and in terms of the number of participants. Thus, we expect the effective participation of our strategic partners with their constructive and innovative thoughts to make the event an ever memorable one in the history of Dubai” Al Sayegh said.

“Selected leaders and employees from Dubai Municipality and representatives of participating organizations will sit together to discuss the strengths, weaknesses and areas to improve so as to come up with the best ideas and solutions for the next year”. She said.

“We also expect that this brainstorming session would boost and strengthen the relationships between government and private sector and professionals in different areas as well as would make a common platform for the decision makers of Dubai to think and work together for a greener future of Dubai”.  

She also urged the residents of Dubai to provide their valuable suggestions for the next year’s event and feedback on their experiences through DM’s website or social media sites.
