DM joins hands with Drydocks World to protect environment, health and safety

In the framework of cooperation with free zones and development areas to enhance the health, safety and environmental requirements in the Emirate of Dubai, a delegation from Dubai Municipality headed by Eng. Salim Bin Mesmar assistant director-general for the environment, health and safety sector visited Drydocks World and Dubai Maritime City.

The visit included a meeting with officials of the environment, health and safety sector at the headquarters of Dubai Maritime City to enhance communication and convergence of views between stakeholders in the environment, health and safety sector in the municipality and Drydocks World and Dubai Maritime City.

The officials in the city provided an overview of the business, projects and best practices in the application of international environmental and occupational health standards, followed by a field visit to the industrial sector in Dubai Maritime City to learn about the reality on the ground.

It was also agreed to hold regular meetings between the specialists of both parties to discuss the mechanism of inspection and monitoring  for achieving environmental, health and safety requirements.

Dubai Municipality has received thanks and appreciation from the President of Drydocks World and Dubai Maritime City, Mr. Khamis Juma Bu Amim. He praised the efforts of Dubai Municipality for the advancement of environment, health and safety sectors in the Emirate of Dubai and cooperation in the field of holding training workshops between Dubai Municipality and Drydocks World and Dubai Maritime City.
