​This subject has been raised in the year 2009 by the rumors that spread through email and internet stating the existence of pork derivatives in the Pepsi product. Abu Dhabi food control authority has replayed this rumor in 17/11/2009 after the testing through modern techniques to detect the presence of genetic material of the pork in products brands. This method relies on DNA imprint, and the results confirmed that the two products are free of pork derivatives. Also, it has been sent samples to international laboratories in Switzerland and Britain. The results confirm the test results obtained in the labs system.


The American Islamic council of food and nutrition confirmed in 2007 that Pepsi product is free of pork and this is because trading the same rumor in Singapore.


The food control department in Dubai Municipality confirmed that all food is subject to comprehensive supervision of origin until they arrive to the consumer. This control is much bigger than the censorship imposed on any other consumer products.
