Dubai Municipality participates
Dubai Municipality is participating in the Inter Solar global exhibition, which got underway at Dubai World Trade Centre on Monday. The event, which was held in the United States, Germany, Brazil and India before, is being hosted by Dubai for the first time
Dubai Municipality was represented in the event by the Buildings Department as it plays an important role in the field of the environmentally friendly solar energy.
The exhibition was opened by His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, who also visited Dubai Municipality pavilion, where he was briefed on the participation of Dubai Municipality in the exhibition, which included a detailed explanation of the mechanisms of qualifying contractors specialized in the field of solar energy, how solar energy works, how to benefit from it and the licensing of the installation of metal panels for solar energy.
The Municipality’s participation in the exhibition is aimed at keeping up with the “Shams Dubai” initiative launched by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, which is concerned with how to connect the solar energy in homes and buildings.
Dubai Municipality gives licenses for the metal panels for solar energy and also works on the optimum qualification of the contractors specializing in the solar energy sector. It also encourages the residents to install and use metal panels for solar energy, which effectively contributes to the better use of the environment friendly ways to cope with the trend of Dubai city to find multiple sources of sustainable energy and maintain a clean and healthy environment, which is in line with the vision of Dubai Municipality to make Dubai a “happy and sustainable city.”
