Hamdan Bin Rashid approves Municipality office project at Hor Al Anz
As part of Dubai Municipality’s keenness to provide the best and the highest standards of service to the public, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, has approved setting up of a Municipality offices complex in Hor Al Anz East area at an estimated cost of Dhs104 million.
This was stated by Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, who said that the approval of His Highness for this project comes in order to keep up with the basic needs of the population of the city for Dubai Municipality services.
“Setting up of a new office complex for Municipality services is aimed at achieving its strategic objectives of providing appropriate working environment for the staff of the Municipality service departments that provide many Municipality services at its centres and external offices,” he said.
Lootah said the area offices do not receive public and customers, but focus on providing field work services, each according to the requirements of the area through the Municipality staff of various categories such as quality controllers who monitor and submit their observations daily for all the field services of the Municipality.
“The field engineers and building inspectors and controllers also take such offices as a starting point for carrying out their daily field work. The field officers also include food controllers who are authorized for daily inspections to restaurants, bakeries and shops selling foodstuff to check violations. The external offices are also the starting point of area supervisors of the waste services, cleaning services and the environment and public health services,” he said.
Lootah said that the new project, which includes a basement, ground floor and 3 upper floors, comprises of a total floor area of 28,000 square meters. “The basement will serve as the parking area for the employees and customers, with 220 parking lots. The ground floor consists of the main entrance of the building, multi-purpose halls for seminars and various meetings and a cafeteria. A portion of this floor is dedicated for the Municipality clinic and the offices for the Dubai Municipality’s Advertisement Section workshop,” he said.
“The upper floors are allocated for the offices of different departments, which will be shifted to the new building as required by the provision of services and facilities necessary for the staff and public,” said Lootah.
He said the latest Municipality requirements in the application of green building standards have been taken into account, as environmentally friendly building materials will be used in the construction of the offices complex, and the design of the building interfaces have been done in a modern and sophisticated manner with distinctive finishes,” said Lootah.
