Dubai Municipality hands over community councils to CDA
Dubai Municipality has handed over the community councils in Al Khawaneej-1 and Umm Suqeim-1 areas to the Community Development Authority (CDA) in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to provide distinguished services and the welfare of citizens according to the highest standards.
Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality handed over H E Ahmed Abdul Karim Julfar, Director General of CDA a certificate of completion of the councils constructed in Al Khawaneej-1 and Umm Suqeim-1.
The community councils project came in line with the directives of the wise government aiming to enhance the distinguished position that Dubai occupies in the social field, and the Municipality’s belief in the importance of community services provided to citizens.
The councils were designed using modern architectural style and each council was built at an area of 1525 square meters with a capacity to accommodate 415 people. The building consists of the lobby and the main council (Majlis) with a capacity of 330 people and a youth council with a capacity of 40 people, in addition to the library, administrative offices and other logistical services.
The councils that are handed over today are the first stage of a number of councils that will be implemented in the residential areas of citizens in the emirate, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
