Dubai Municipality organizes Ladies Only Day initiative in Al Mamzar Park
In view of the good turnout during the Ladies’ Only days in Al Mamzar Park on Mondays and Wednesdays, and due to the increase in the customer happiness index, Dubai Municipality launched a Ladies’ Only Day initiative on Saturday, 10th October, 2020, by allocating a special day for women once during this year.
The Municipality selected Saturday by conducting a survey on its social media pages to vote between Friday or Saturday, and Saturday received a higher percentage of the vote.
The choice of the special day coincided with the month of October, which is the month of breast cancer awareness, hence, the Pink Caravan was present from 12 pm to 8 pm to examine women for breast cancer, in addition to the presence of a number of cafes and mobile food carts.
All the services and facilities in the park on that day were reserved for women only and male children under six, and the services and facilities included chalets, swimming pools, and beaches.
Al Mamzar Park, which was established in 1994, was chosen because it is a beach park and witnesses a good turnout of women on the days allocated to them during the year.
It is worth noting that Dubai Municipality has always been keen to participate in organizing various events that coincide with international occasions and awareness events, such as raising awareness on breast cancer, and enhancing its Corporate Social Responsibility and role in the field of spreading awareness among community members and contributing to the inculcation of cultural, knowledge and health concepts in them.
