Houses were constructed in the early forties of the twentieth century, with a total area of 2650 sq.ft. the first house consists of two floors with 4 rooms on the ground floor and two verandas. The upper floor consists of 4 rooms and a Liwan. An open courtyard centers the houses and was considers the focal point as all the 6 rooms were accessed through it. The ground floor of the second house has 2 Liwans, one facing the main entrance and the other located at the southwestern end. In 2015, the AHAD of Dubai Municipality restored the building and rehabilitated it to be used as Dubai Documents Center. The lower floor rooms are used to display and store the documents, while the upper floor rooms are used to accommodate the staff including both the researchers and the administrative employees.
