Dubai municipality has commenced implementing the ‘Happiness Index’ an initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The initiative to measure the happiness and satisfaction of public on different government services rendered to them is considered first in kind in the world.
For this purpose, initially the civic body will distribute 23 smart devices linked with a centralized network in the main building of Dubai Municipality in Deira and in other DM centers located in different parts of Dubai.
Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality, shed light on the details of the initiative saying : the systems will provide an application on the spot screens to the service recipient to select one of three options to express the level of his/her happiness or unhappiness on the services provided.
‘The customers will be given further opportunities through follow-up communications to provide their comments and feedback regarding the services rendered to them, in order to improve the quality of services in line with the best international practices and achieve the happiness among the entire categories of the society, and in turn to create an excellent city that provides the essence of success and comfort of sustainable living,’ Lootah said.
‘The evaluation system will help civic body identify the standard, method and the transparency of communication channels along with the customers’ opinion contributing to the fulfillment of its desired goals,’ he continued.
‘The customer relations department will be entrusted for the follow-up of these devices and communication with the customers in addition to the analysis of evaluation. The department will also find solutions and train the employees to achieve the desired level of customer satisfaction,’ he further said.
‘Being a service oriented organization; the civic body has been exerting its maximum efforts to provide the best facilities and services for the citizens and residents. Currently there are total 350 services which are fully automated. 200 services are already transformed to smart services through five applications developed by different departments. In addition, we are proud to be the real hero behind each and every success of Dubai under our wise leadership,’ he elaborated.
‘It’s worth mentioning that, the UAE has been ranked as 14th among the happiest nations in the world. we hereby pledge that we will spare no efforts until Dubai government achieve its vision to be one of the top ten happiest cities in the world by 2021 which coincides with the golden jubilee of the independent UAE,’ he added.
