The Library's Architectural Concept:
With a design that is symbolic of Dubai’s uniqueness, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library has shape of an open book. The architectural concept is based on the traditional nomadic travellers who carry their books with them, especially the Holy Quran. However, the library is also in harmony of with the world of the twenty-first century. This holds great symbolism and is an indicator to the UAE cultural treasures that the library holds, from literary collections, publications and media productions to the latest audio-visual technologies.
In 2018, the Australian Traveller website chose Mohammed Bin Rashid Library among its top 10 most impressive destinations and buildings. The library also ranked 5th in architectural buildings category.
