Fauna includes all the animals in a given area. Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is a home to countless species of birds, reptiles, fish and invertebrates, but most prominently it is a haven for birds of around 180 different species.
The site regularly supports a number of wintering and migratory birds including the globally threatened Socotra Cormorant and Ferruginous Duck.

Flora means all types of plants. The plant community at Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary plays an integral role in recycling of nutrients and maintaining the ecological balance of the area.
The most prominent of the trees found here are the mangroves which safeguard the sanctuary from wave actions and tidal surges.
