Dubai Municipality has confirmed that the water brand ‘Golden Water’ is not available in the UAE market. The notice is in response to a video that has been circulating on social media about 200ml Golden Water cups and bottles, which are claimed to taste strange, contain oxidising and toxic substances that are harmful to people, and ignite very quickly. The information has been refuted by the Municipality, which asserts that it lacks any scientific validity.

Additionally, Dubai Municipality pointed out that both imported and locally produced water are subject to strictly controlled for quality checks, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, in order to guarantee their safety and suitability for human consumption. The Dubai Central Laboratory of the Municipality is also equipped with the necessary tests to confirm the safety of drinking water and make sure it is free of any harmful toxins.

Dubai Municipality urges the public not to believe or spread rumors related to food and beverages that circulate on social media platforms.
