In order to lay the foundations of architectural concepts and support evolution and excellence in building, construction and urban planning, both locally and internationally, we, at the Building Permits and Building Control Departments, put forward various publications.

These publications include regulations and specifications for buildings and green buildings, regulatory frameworks for the practice of engineering consultancy and procedures for issuing building permits, designs and other related publications and guidelines, including:

It includes regulations, specifications and standards to be adopted in the building of various facilities in Dubai. You can check the electronic version (Arabic)  of this list or obtain it from:

The guidance manual for the development of the Al Quoz Creative Hub provides comprehensive information on the design and planning standards and the requirements for issuing building permits for land parcels in the area. The standards outlined in the manual align with the vision of the area as an integrated hub for creative activity with an architectural character that corresponds to the industrial identity of the Al Quoz region.

This booklet includes the Local Orders and Directives issued with regards to the regulations of the Professional Practice of Engineering Consultancy in Dubai. An electronic version is available through our website as well as through the Dubai Municipality’s Customer Service Section in the Al Tawar Branch.

Green Buildings:

Green Building Regulations and Specification Guidebook:

  • Issued in 2011, it is the first guidebook for the regulations and specifications for Green Buildings in Dubai. It includes detailed explanations on how to implement these regulations and specifications. We initially adopted them in Dubai governmental buildings and facilities and made them optional for private sector buildings and facilities.
  • These regulations and specifications became mandatory. They were adopted for all new building in Dubai as of March 2014.
