For visitors and long-term residents of Dubai, the iconic Clock Tower in Deira is a cherished symbol of the city’s heritage and a landmark that invokes affection as well as a sense of place. Constructed in 1963, it was the first land passage between Deira and Bur Dubai and has been one of the most important crossroads in the Emirates. In line with our commitment to protect and preserve history, Dubai Municipality undertook a major overhaul of the Clock Tower and its surroundings in May 2023.

The restoration of the Deira Clock Tower underscores the power of time in our city, highlighting how tradition and progress coexist.
