Factory Assessment Scheme for Concrete Block Factories
(as per Dubai Municipality Local Order 44/1990-Amended)
In line with Dubai Municipality’s strategic objectives of adopting global best practices, the Dubai Central Laboratory started applying the Factory Assessment Scheme for Concrete Block Factories operating in Dubai according to amended Local Order No. (44) of 1990.
This scheme is applied based on the system for granting certificates/conformity marks No. (5) and according to the International ISO Guide No. (67).
Through this system, block factories are assessed to verify their implementation of the quality management system requirements according to ISO 9001, in addition to evaluating brick products according to the requirements of Dubai Municipality Technical Guide (TG-01) for concrete blocks.
Factories are granted products certificates of conformity after the success of their quality systems evaluation process and the conformity results of their products. Thus, the certificate enables the factory to place the conformity mark on its products.
The Dubai Central Laboratory, through the inspectors and auditors of the Certification and Quality Control of Products Section (CQPS), conducts periodic audit visits to factories and construction sites, to check the continuous conformity of concrete block products to the certification specifications.
How to apply for this scheme?
Block factories can submit their application online to the CQPS at Dubai Central Laboratory.
